Questions
Why do characters and bytes differ?
Bytes are counted in UTF-8. Letters like é take 2 bytes and most emoji take 4, so non-English text has more bytes than characters.
How is reading time estimated?
At 238 words per minute, a common average for adult silent reading. Speaking time uses 150 words per minute.
What does the commit subject bar measure?
Only the first line, against the 72-character guideline many teams follow.
